“When the whole world is running towards a cliff, he who is running in the opposite direction appears to have lost his mind.” ― C. S. Lewis

FEBRUARY 9, 2025 | NEW ORLEANS, LA | 2-5 PM LIVE ENTERTAINMENT | COMEDY | MUSIC | ATHLETE LOCKER ROOM TALKS | BIG GAME WATCH PARTY 5:30PM

A Winning History

When the NFL’s biggest event of the year hit Houston in 2017, it was clear that most of the celebrations planned did not align with the alcohol and substance-free lifestyle of many fans. Traditionally, events and entertainment surrounding the bowl were focused on, or even sponsored by the alcohol industry. With the desire for a fresh, safe, all-inclusive Big Game Day experience, SoberBowl® was created!

Pro-sports legends who embrace substance-free living jumped on board: Iconic sports agent and humanitarian Leigh Steinberg and NFL Hall-of-Famers Earl Campbell and Carl Eller were joined by former NFL quarterback and broadcaster Ryan Leaf, NBA Houston Rockets star-turned-coach John Lucas, 10-year Tampa Bay Buccaneer and Athletes in Recovery Founder Randy Grimes, Houston Oilers’ Willie Tullis and many more! Our roster continues to grow as athletes choose to donate their time, talent and public platform to see SoberBowl® reach its full potential.

A Non-Profit Organization

SoberBowl® is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to producing mainstream alcohol and substance-free film, art and sporting events since 2013. SoberBowl proceeds are donated to help fund recovery resources in the
Big Game Host Cities.

SoberBowl® All-Pro Board Members

“The SoberBowl® is a marvelous way to enjoy the nation’s premier sporting event without addictive substances and with support and camaraderie. It brings people together from all across the nation to celebrate sobriety and hear inspirational messages. I can still remember the visceral rush I experienced with this gathering in Minneapolis. Don’t miss it!”

“What SoberBowl® is doing is giving everyone the opportunity to have a safe and sober alternative to the status quo of [a typical championship] party. [SoberBowl] embodies the ideals of community, accountability and spirituality, and that is what this event is all about…”

“The idea of the SoberBowl® is awesome. I always say the biggest part of staying sober has been my support system. Family is great, but when you’re able to surround yourself with people that are fighting the same battles you are everyday; you build a network, and that becomes very inspirational. I take it one day at a time. You have to thank God for today and pray about tomorrow.”

“I think this has a wonderful effect on the community.”

“SoberBowl® for the Leaf family is a safe space, but it’s also a teaching tool to our children that sports don’t have to revolve around mood-altering substances; a fun time can be had regardless.”
